Sliding Head CNC Machine Setter Operator

We are seeking a Sliding Head CNC Machine Setter Operator to join our team working a 4-day working week from Monday to Thursday.

The Sliding Head CNC Machine Setter Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating a brand new Sliding Head Star Machine ST-38 with a Fanuc control system.

As an experienced Sliding Head CNC Machine Setter Operator you will be expected to produce precision parts and instruments for a variety of high end sectors such as Aerospace and Defence.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in setting and operating Sliding Head CNC Machinery, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Sliding Head CNC Machine Setter Operator Responsibilities:

• Highly skilled in the setting and operating Star Sliding Head Machines
• A full understanding of Fanuc control system
• Experience in small batch work - Ranging from 1 offs upwards
• A good understanding of engineering drawings
• Perform quality checks to ensure parts meet tight tolerances and specifications and able to use a wide range of measuring equipment
• Troubleshoot and make necessary adjustments to ensure a smooth production process
• An understanding of 5s principles along with good housekeeping and basic machine maintenance
